About Wavelength Game
A free browser version of the social guessing game, built to start in one tap and work on whatever device is already on the table.
The project
What this is
One player sees a hidden target on a dial, gives a single clue, and their team argues its way to a guess. Everything runs on one device that you pass around the group — there is no second screen and nothing to set up.
The deck holds 280 spectrum pairs sorted into 10 topics — everyday opposites, food, pop culture, couples, kids, party, and a hard mode for groups that want an argument. You can narrow the pool to the topics your group actually wants.
Why it is free
No accounts, no install, no catch
There is no sign-up, no download, and no paywall. The game never asks for your name, your email, or a login, because it does not need to know who you are — a round only involves the people already in the room.
Nothing about a game leaves your device. Scores, the dial, and your topic selection all live in the browser tab, and the scores disappear when you close it.
How it is built
A static page that does the whole job
The whole game is a static site: HTML, CSS and one script, served from Cloudflare. There is no server-side code and no database, which is why it loads fast and keeps working on a bad connection.
The sound effects are synthesised in the browser with the Web Audio API rather than loaded as audio files, and the fonts are self-hosted, so the page pulls in almost nothing from anywhere else.
It is translated into seven languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish and Norwegian. Every topic pair is translated too, not just the interface.
Important
This is a fan project
This is an independent, unofficial, fan-made project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the official Wavelength board game or its publishers, and all related trademarks belong to their respective owners.
If you enjoy the game here, buy the physical edition. The board game is a better object than any web page, and this version exists for the evenings when the box is not around.

Found a bug, or a bad translation?
Corrections are welcome, especially on the translated topic pairs — a pair that reads fine in English can land strangely in another language.
